Brian Tracy up close with so many nuggets on Time Management

So it is like 3am in the morning and I can’t sleep. What do I do? I just remembered I haven’t posted anything on here, so I guess this will keep me busy for the next 15 minutes or so.

Hey I also remembered that I got to see Brain Tracy up close yesterday. Oh yeah, he was about 3 feet away from me and all I could think about was I am going to be like him when I grow up. When I say that guy has an ocean of knowledge, I ain’t joking. I think he had about an hour on the stage, but he packed it full. He touched on topics like goal setting and developing yourself as a leader, but I think my break-through moment was when he touched on Time Management…the one big issue I have, especially when it comes to the monkey work that is prevalent at work. I know my team knows what I am talking about.  Okay back to the things he shared.

The solutions he shared with us are really simple and a lot of times when you have these epiphanies, you can’t help but wonder, so what was the problem, why didn’t I think of that. Does this ever happen to you?

According to him, the first thing to combat managing time efficiently is make a list. Plan your day before you go to bed or do that first thing in the morning. The very next is set priorities and key tasks. A good reference is the book Brain Tracy wrote called “Eat that Frog”. It is a must read. Before I go on with my yada yada, lets just sum it all up in a nut shell. Simple put, time management is the ability to choose the sequence of events. So if you really want be productive, efficient, power and happier, never ever work without a list, let me re-phrase that, never work without a prioritized list.

He also said all success is made up of concentrating on one single task at a time. This will make you more productive and more powerful. It will make you happier. Do you realize that your body releases certain energy when you complete a daunting task? I didnt even know that. The feeling however is refreshing. So again, in simple terms, you will never get anywhere doing a little of everything.

If you don’t remember anything I have said today, just remember that people who get to the top are the ones who focus and concentrate on one task at a time. So I am going to be the role model and start implementing that, because as a leader, I must go first. Brain is good; he has already put me in the position of talking the talk. I guess the only thing remaining is to walk the walk….action!

Earth to Tope…I am back to the present and all I can think about is, getting my picture taken with this intelligent gentleman, after all one of my long term goals is to be a renowned public speaker worldwide. Oh well, I never got that wish. All in all, I had a splendid day, I even got to do cardo fit in the morning. I also started a badge collection craze. I have got about 32 of them from this conference. Now everyone that sights me, is on the run, because. I might just snatch your badges from you. Take a look at my collection. Brilliant right?
