The Sequel to Tales of Love: I’m quitting because his mummy doesn’t like me!
Yetunde stood there looking at her boyfriend, wondering how someone so handsome could cause so much heartache. As she continued to stare at him, she made a mental note not to apologize, no matter how hard he was on her. Anyways he had pushed her to the wall. Right now all she wanted to do was fight back. He was hurting her and all her analysis led her to the conclusion that it was time to quit. There is no turning back now. At least his mum would receive one good news to last her a life time.
However she decided she wasn’t going to be the first one to call this relationship off. If he wanted out, he should break the ice, and giving him a piece of her mind was going to be slotted in there, somehow. She didn’t expect him to say sorry anyway, after all he was the one demanding an apology a few days back. The thought of the past couple of weeks came rushing back and along with it came a surge of anger and bitterness. It filled every nerve in her body.
“Let him just open that mouth, I will give it to him, that’s for sure“
She was not expecting his next move. Yomi went on his knees. She thought to herself “He better not be asking me to marry him.“
She watched in shock and amazement as he fiddled with his pocket. She had never seen this side of him. He was stuttering and shaking all over. He was as nervous as a kid on his first day in school. A part of her wanted to feel sorry for him, another part wanted to leave a long lasting hurt for all the pain he had caused. She was brought back to reality when she heard him say “ YETUNDE, WILL YOU MARRY ME?“
She heard a loud THUD in her chest. Her first thoughts were “Wow! I am going to be his wife” and the anger returned. She wanted to scream, but it came out as tears. She turned her back on him. He must have been scared because she heard panic in his voice when he asked what was wrong.
She replied
“ You don’t know? Marry you for what? Do you think you can come here and make things right with this rubbish proposal. I have put up with your mum’s attitude for years now. I have even accommodated her cynical remark to me. I cannot continue playing catch up. Please I think it is your mum you should be proposing to, because it doesn’t make sense to marry a woman who will always be at logger heads with your mother! You are too weak to be my husband. I don’t want wahala when I enter your house. You are not adding to my happiness. Can you see my face? All I have done since you got here is cry, cry and cry. It is high time I find something that will make me laugh. As hard as it is to admit, maybe you aren’t it for me.“
She knew her words were harsh, but she had had it. He tried to explain why he wanted her in his life, but she was too far gone. His words weren’t reaching her heart anymore. She said some more hurtful things, which she knew she should take back, but this is the only time she had ever let her emotions out. Every ounce of love she had ever felt for him seemed to have drained out in that moment but then her senses returned. The only problem was, she was too proud to apologize. She actually loved the look of pain in his eyes. She knew she could lose him right there and she was starting not to care!
For her, Yomi had to make a choice and she was glad she told him so!
There is always two sides to a coin. Here is Yomi’s Version

You know I’ll followed this story and I can’t blame her. Now I want to know what finally happens.
Ouch…this one is going to get ugly, but maybe there is more to it than meets the eye.
I haven’t read any of the earlier parts, but she should leave him, because of him only and not because of his mum. True a girl, at least in some societies such as India, marries into the family – the family has a say in lots of things. Yet, wouldn’t the personal qualities of the boy friend alone count? I shall watch out for the sequel
