Last week, I went to Lekki for my uncle’s funeral, or at least I thought I was going to Lekki and I vividly remember getting to the spot we all know as the Palms. I asked my sister, we are there already right? And she says no. In amazement, I looked at her and said “so what is this placed called?” She gave me the reply I was looking for “Lekki” and I asked again “So where are we going?”
Again she replied “when we get there, I will know” In a sarcastic tone, I replied “Let’s just hope we don’t get lost”. I guess the thought of the funeral added to the pressure we were both under.
When it comes to Nigeria, I feel the exact same way. Let me explain….
As each weekend comes and goes, I begin to lose my excitement over the thought that I’d have a little over 55 hours to rest before the next hectic week. I already know that there will always be another week and another one and another one. I want out of the dog eat dog system. It is time I come up with a permanent solution.
I just need an example, so that I can imitate, achieve the same level of success and maybe I can do some innovation of my own. Even though I have always believed that the entrepreneurial spirit is a universal one, still I wanted someone that is used to my terrain, someone that has a fair idea of the challenges that can arise and has proof of surmounting these challenges. I need a road map!
So I decided to do a quick research online for the business guru, that we have come to recognized in our great country and hardly any information on how they achieved and actualized their dreams are recorded. And just like my sister replied, I am supposed to know by intuition when I have arrived?
We all know that in life we have little successes before we reach our main success, so the rationale here is if and when I make a little progress, I won’t even know, because all my focus is on the main BIG HIT. Correct me if I am wrong, but that is the fastest surest way for any normal thinking human being to get discouraged.
In my quest to come up with a permanent solution, I have decided to fish out these business tycoons and get them to share with us the Nigerian youths the road to their success. Let us see what becomes of it…

that will be great we need to learn from our elders….
